LIFELONG LEARNING PROGRAM – GRUNDTVIG Learning Partnerships (2011 – 2013)

Getting Strategic through Social Media is a project that aims to explore the opportunities that social media, as a marketing tool, can provide to the language teaching sector. Forums, weblogs, social blogs, micro blogging, wikis, podcasts, social bookmarking, Facebook, Twitter etc. they have supercharged the ways we communicate.

In this project, the management and staff of institutions active in foreign languages, users of foreign language teaching services (individuals and employers) and marketing experts worked together. In particular, we focused on how:

attracting adults to follow language learning courses;

overcome difficulties in contacting target groups;

encourage awareness of the need for knowledge of foreign languages.

The project was developed through the following stages:

1) needs analysis regarding the marketing of organizations;

2) potential of social media within the framework of marketing needs of organizations;

3) matching between the language learning needs of organizations and the characteristics of social media;

4) sustainability of marketing tools.
